Erik ten Hag explains how he knew Marcus Rashford was ‘back on track’ at Manchester United

BBc News ni :- Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has explained how he knew that Marcus Rashford was ‘back on track’ for the club this season.

After an underwhelming campaign under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, Rashford was left contemplating his role and even his future at Old Trafford. However, in just six Premier League matches this season, the England international has scored already scored three goals for the club.

This form has seen him win the Premier League‘s player of the month award for September and his boss believes that this is a sign that Rashford is getting back to where he wants to be. Speaking to MUTV, Ten Hag explained: “I’m really happy for him.

“That tells that Marcus is back on track. He is in his middle 20s, he showed in the past in his young career already a lot.

“Last year was definitely a setback but you see, he’s back on that level and I’m really happy and I’m convinced he can score a lot more goals and that he will be a contributor for our team.

Rashford was linked with a move to PSG in the summer, however Ten Hag made it clear that the forward was not for sale. The 24-year-old’s contract expires at the end of this season, but United do have the option to trigger a one-year extension should they wish to.

Four Manchester United stars are spearheading a “leadership group” deemed crucial to Erik ten Hag’s push to revive the club.

The Old Trafford boss endured a difficult start to his much-scrutinised tenure – including a 4-0 humiliation at Brentford – but recent results have hinted at a turnaround in fortunes. Ten Hag scooped the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award for September, only the second United boss to do so since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

BBc News ni :- United have won four on the bounce since being battered by Brentford and face a huge test of their credentials on Sunday afternoon away at champions and old rivals Manchester City. But confidence will be high in the United camp and The Telegraph report Ten Hag ‘s anointing of a four-man group to set the tone in the dressing room is a key factor in their recent upturn. It’s said Bruno Fernandes, David de Gea, backup keeper Tom Heaton and much-maligned club captain Harry Maguire are the quartet the former Ajax boss is leaning on to run the dressing room.

‘Everyone will be silent’ – Man Utd boss Ten Hag backs Ronaldo to hush critics following disappointing start to season

Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United 2022-23

Erik Ten Hag has given Cristiano Ronaldo his backing despite the Manchester United striker’s poor start to the season.

  • Ronaldo has one goal this season
  • Striker has started only three games
  • Ten Hag believes he’ll rediscover form

WHAT HAPPENED? After losing their opening two games of the season, Ten Hag’s United have won their last four Premier League matches, including wins against Liverpool and Arsenal. Ronaldo has occupied a place on the bench as in-form Marcus Rashford leads the line for United, but Ten Hag believes the Portuguese will show everyone his quality soon enough.

WHAT HE SAID: In an interview with Sky Sports Ten Hag said: “It’s quite normal. We had lots of players perform well for their nations. Some players who are maybe in a less shape, but one who can deal with that is Cristiano Ronaldo. His whole career the whole world looks at him and has high expectations of him and I’m sure he will come back. His whole career he scores and does well and everyone will be silent. I have every confidence.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Ronaldo has scored just one goal this season, against Sheriff in the Europa League. He also struggled in the recent International break, failing to net in Portugal’s games against Czech Republic and Spain.
